Industrial bioinformatics-genomics research projects

Title: Industrial bioinformatics-genomics research projects

Supervisors: Roland Siezen and industrial project leaders

The strong links with the food industry in the Netherlands makes it possible for students to choose for research projects that are directly linked to industrial questions related to genomics and bioinformatics. Topics can include:

  • analysis of bacterial or eukaryotic genomes
  • comparative genomics
  • analysis of transcriptomics or proteomics data
  • metabolic and regulatory pathway reconstruction
  • mapping of genomics experimental data on pathways
Part of the research project can be performed at the location of industrial partners, such as DSM (Delft), Unilever (Vlaardingen), Friesland Dairy (Deventer), Purac (Gorinchem), NIZO food research (Ede), etc. In some cases, laboratory work can be ombined with bioinformatics work.
